Memory
Lee
Dunkel's interest in Environmental and Landscape photography began in
the early 1980’s. Living and working in high growth and fast
developing Central Florida often means the pristine landscape of
memory is not easy to find. This coupled with the effects of climate
change will mean a quite altered landscape now and in the future. Ms.
Dunkel is attracted to the medium of black and white photography
because of the abstract quality it gives to the image and it seems to
make it something other than a documentation. She currently lives and
works in Central Florida.
"Often,
a certain piece of music will stimulate a photographic journey for me.
The intricate piano pieces and brevity found in Chopin's Etudes was
part of the stimulus for these simple but yet complex images of a
small piece of nature." Lee Dunkel |
