Eola
is proud to display the classical black and white silver gelatin
prints of the renowned Environmental and Landscape photographer, Lee
Dunkel of Ormond Beach, Florida in our first floor dining
room. Ms. Dunkel spends an average of 40 hours in the darkroom
perfecting each print. This body of work, Florida
Etudes, was inspired by the intricate piano pieces and brevity found in Chopin's
Etudes.
Two
separate bodies of work by Peter
J. Singhofen (Chef Daniel Singhofen's father) are on display in
our second floor dining room. The first is a series on Maple
Syrup production in Pennsylvania and was chosen with the
"from farm to table concept". Eola actually purchases
and uses syrup produced by Henry Brenneman, an Amish farmer included
in this series of photos.
The
other body of work in the second floor dining room is about a journey
in time along U.S. Highway 1 entitled One's Memory.
Singhofen captures memories from a family trip about 50 years ago with
a plastic toy camera. The mosaic of photos also reflects Chef
Singhofen's journey from his Florida roots to his home now in D.C.
